Funky fun spring outfit

Hello fellow bloggers!

Today I bring to you another outfit post!

So I recently did a photoshoot with the super talented Ashley Noel (@ashleynoelmua on Instagram)! She's a hair stylist, makeup artist AND fashion stylist! I absolutely love this look, so funky and hipster! The backpack makes me feel like a kid again! If you know me personally you'd know I would never wear these combination of clothes but after this shoot I might just try it out!

So from what I gathered from Ashley here is where she got the items:
- Penny's: backpack, glasses (painted white with nail polish), metallic sheer nail polish from essence, necklace
- H&M: shoes, white dress
- Claires accessorize: White nail polish

The fur coat was borrowed from a friend!

What do you guys think of this look? Would you wear this kind of combination for spring?
I'd love to know!

OOTN: Keeping it simple

Hello people!

I rarely blog about outfits so here goes!

For my friends surprise birthday a few nights ago, I kept my outfit quite simple.

I love black shorts and tights because any top goes well with them! If you are keeping your bottom half plain and simple, you can go a bit crazy on the top to balance it, but I just chose a striped blouse I bought when I was in Prague! Such an amazing deal... €2.50!!!

I stuck to my "OUI" gold chain from Forever 21 instead of a statement necklace Id probably wear if I was going on a night out with the girls! One bracelet and voila, finished.

(Photo as it is with no edits, taken with my phone)

As for hair, you can see how my hair has some colour in it now! Well curls make those colours stand out more hence I always curl it when I'm going out. Plus, I think curly hair gives any outfit that elegant touch.

Hope you like it! I'm too much of a coward to go crazy with patterns haha

Love love,

Short hair, yay or nay?

Hello and happy Friday everyone!

So I have recently dyed my hair black black and I really love it because black goes with everything and anything (in my opinion anyways!)

My hair was up to my hips and I trimmed it yesterday so it's up to my waist now. Thing is, I'm rather bored of my hairstyle and have been contemplating getting it chopped for a while now but haven't really plucked up the courage to just go for it!

SOooo.. I thought I'd ask around and see what you guys think? If I was getting the chop I'd go for long front and short back.

This is what my hair is like now.

Sooo.. short hair, yay or nay??

Looking forward to hearing what you guys think,

Lots of love

[Review] Jessica Simpson Nude 'Waleo' high heel platform court shoes!

So recently my love for shoes have blossomed and I adore high heels now hahahaha. I feel they just make women look more confident and elegant and beautiful and the list goes on! :D I have always found it hard to get a pair of heels that fit me right or that are comfortable to wear for long hours. My friends mentioned that Jessica Simpsons heels are super duper comfy and I just acknowledged it but never really tried them! So last month when I was browsing online (Debenhams.ie) I found a pair of patent nude Jessica Simpsons heels!

There went from 120e down to 49e, so I thought to myself, sure let’s see what’s so great about these shoes and if I don’t like them I can always return them and get my refund! So when they arrived I fell in love instantly! They are UNBELIEVABLY COMFORTABLE! The insoles are real spongey and the second your foot slides in you know they are worth the money! hehehe. The quality is great too so I know I'll get a lot of wears from them! I could definitely see myself wearing them for the whole day and not get tired walking in them.

Have any of you tried a pair of Jessica Simpson heels?! What are your opinions?

Lots of love,

Photoshoot #4

Happy day-after-St. Patrick's day!!

Another photoshoot with the talented Gareth Byrd.
Hair Stylist and MUA: myself
I curled my hair with a GHD straightner. :) First time! Twas very hard to get the curls right because a lot of the time I kept straightening instead of curling! Practice makes perfect I guess.

And yes, I have a tattoo. It's in French and says "Vies comme tu voudrais que l'on se souvienne de toi" and that translate to "Live how you want to be remembered" in English.

Hope you guys weren't too hungover after St. Patricks day yesterday!

OOTD: A Day at the Races

Happy Sunday guys!

So today I went to my boyfriend's grandparents 60th Anniversary and they celebrated it at Naas Racecourse in Kildare? (I'm not into horse racing, so I'm not really sure what the place is called!)
It was such a lovely day and I met a lot of lovely people, family, friends etc.

My boyfriends grandparents had booked a suite for the guests and we had a lovely lunch and desert, tea, coffee, wine, you name it! And it was perfect spot for horse racing fans because the finish line was in full view, whether you are out on the balcony or watching from inside!

This was my very first horse race and I really enjoyed it! So here is what I wore:

Miss Luxe's Red Peplum Dress (this time WITH the belt!). The colour looks pink/magenta here due to weird lighting and camera, but the link shows the proper colour of it. It's really red! I would recommend this dress to anyone because it really is SUPER comfy and the material is stretchy and warm!

I wore my Newbridge necklace that my boyfriend's grandparents bought me for Christmas 2 years ago. It's simple but works with the outfit!

Then I threw a blazer over to make it more casual, because the dress on its own would have been a little too dressy (compared to everyone else that was there!), and I didn't know this before I arrived so the blazer was a good idea! Plus it meant that if people were more dressy, I could take it off and blend in with the crowd! LOVE my blazers!

A long coat always works with long dresses and good to prevent your dress from being blown up if it's super windy like today! This coat is from United Colours of Benetton and it's very old so I don't know if they still sell it anymore.

The only issue I had with the dress is the belt that came with it. Don't get me wrong, I love the style of this belt and I think it goes perfectly with the dress. The only thing is the material it's made of isn't "great". It's only my second time wearing the dress with the belt and the plastic is already breaking on me. I have a feeling it won't last too long. A more durable material or even a more elastic plastic would be better.

But the belt comes free, and you can easily wear the dress without the belt so it really doesn't make much of a difference because the dress is so amazing I'd be happy to pay the same price for just the dress! :)

Have any of you guys gone to horse races? If so, what did you wear?!

Hope you all had a super duper Sunday!

*[Review] Miss Luxe online store

Hope everyone had a beautiful Valentines Day! Yesterday was the first time I spent Valentines day I spent without my boyfriend since we got together (he is in Canada doing a Masters). We had our skype date instead! Miss him loads, but what can you do. Hehehe, so I got myself dressed up for this date.. (one's got to look her best for a date right?) and while I'm at it, I'll give you a lovely review on Miss Luxe online store.

Miss Luxe is a fairly new online store that launched last year in May! "As a women’s fashion and beauty e-tailer, we are dedicated to offering you branded, unbranded and own label fashion that is unique, vibrant and expressive. We provide on-trend and catwalk-inspired pieces that are current and affordable". And when they say affordable, they mean affordable!
You can check out their website here: Miss Luxe

What I love about their site is that the models are not the usual stick thin girls modelling the clothes, they are women of normal sizes as well as ethnicity. They have a range of products that you can choose from and again at an affordable price.

I have been very luck to be sent 3 items to review from their website, so here goes!

Here's a short video of what I got in my package from Miss Luxe (like my belated secret santa! hehehe):

These were the items in the package (in no particular order):
Red peplum dress with belt
Barry M Texture Nail polish (colour in Lady)
Barry M Bronze eye dazzle dust

Red Peplum dress:

The red peplum dress is so comfortable on! It's a red red dress! Very beautiful and very suited for any dinner date ;) This dress comes with a belt (which I have removed in this video), and it makes the dress very classy, as you can see in the link I have attached above.
The great thing with this dress is you can wear it to a formal event by removing the belt and by wearing some beautiful jewelery such as these:

Bling me

For a lovely dinner date probably a nice gold chain and wear the belt with the dress.

Barry M Texture Nail Paint (in Lady):
This is a beautiful pearly white colour with a grainy feel on your nails. It's very sparkly and beautiful once on! I think for best results, apply 2 layers and make sure the polish is dried completely before applying the next layer because it does take a while to dry if the layers are too thick! Also if you apply 3 layers, it'll look very pearly white! SO if that's the look you're going for, then go for it! :)
Application is super easy and no hassle at all! The brush paints the nail varnish on very smoothly! I would recommend everyone try out this line of nail varnish from Barry M. They have a few other shades also available on Miss Luxe and while I'm at it, there is a 30% off sale this weekend so don't forget to check them out!

Barry M Dazzle Dust:
This is just a pot of beauty! It's the pretty shade of eyeshadow powder I've ever seen! It's a small pot, but believe you me when I say a little goes a long way! This powder is unbelievably pigmented and is a beautiful bronze colour. It applies very smoothly onto the eye lids and any one who have not yet tried Barry M Dazzle Dust should check them out! Currently on 30% off Miss Luxe website for £3.14.

This swatch photo on my hand does not do the colour any justice! I found it so hard to get any decent photo of the colour because it was so shimmery the light kept bouncing off it and blinding my camera!

Here is a picture of what the eyeshadow looks like on my eyelids! Just so beautiful don't you think? I paired it with a black eyeshadow for the corner of my eyes to give a subtle dramatic effect. Again, if you haven't tried it out, I would highly recommend this Dazzle dust because you won't regret it! And it's very affordable too!

Miss Luxe delivers internationally too so you won't have to worry about living too far away from the UK! So there you have it, my review for Miss Luxe and their beautiful products they sell on their site! So don't forget to check it out because they have a great sale on at the moment!

I want to end this post by sending my thanks to Miss Luxe for this opportunity and I am so honoured that they have sent me these beautiful products to review.

[DIY] Glitter Tip Nails!

I'm sure many of you go to beauty salons to get your nails done (nearly everyone where I work get their nails done by a beautician!) but if you're a poor student/graduate like me, the cheaper the better!
I am here with you today to show you how you can do your own glitter tip nails.

What you'll need:
Clear nail polish (I'm using No7 So smooth base coat)
Glitter (I'm using Essence's Glitter dust in 03 Angel dust), you can use whatever colour glitter you want.

So here are the steps:
1. Apply the base coat (1 layer), and wait till that is fully dried!!
2. Apply a thin layer of the clear nail polish on the tips of your nails (you can decide for yourself how far down you wait the glitter part to go)
3. While the tips are still wet, gently dip your nail into the glitter. You will get lots of excess glitter on the nail (hence NB that the base coat is completely dry before you do step 2!) so just tap your nail gently onto the table or hard surface. Wait until it's nearly dry (or dried) then you can gently brush off the rest of excess glitter with your finger (do it very gently!)
4. When everything is completely dry, get the clear nail varnish again and apply generous amount of it onto nail, to cover the whole nail! Wait till it completely dries, then do another layer!

Hope that helps! Let me know how you guys get on or if you try this out! :)

Simple Must Haves #1

Hello hello!

So I have decided to start a series of posts called "Simple Must Haves" which will pretty much be things that I use and simply must have. Just little things I want to share with you all.

Today I will do my first Simple Must Haves: Long Necklaces.

So what's so good about long necklaces? Personally, I simply love the way they look. They definitely add to an outfit and can definitely decorate a plain boring top into something smart/casual. Because they are long, they add some length into your body shape (depending on the type of long necklace you have).

If you are dressing in plain clothes, jeans and a plain top, add a long necklace and it will spice up your outfit, I almost 100% guarantee that. I have other long necklaces, but the two shown in this post are the ones I'd grab for most often when I am going out or just meeting friends. As you can see they are not sparkly or anything super fancy, but I love how they look as part of an outfit. I don't know how many times I've probably said that but I do think they looks super! So I am sorry for repetition! Ahhhh...

As you can see they tell the time as well as function as a necklace! Handy for when you are too lazy to whip out your phone to check the time! Unfortunately, the batteries have run out (lazy to get them changed) but I still wear them because they are beautiful even just as a necklace.

So there you have it, my simple must haves #1!

Do any of you guys wear long necklaces??

OOTD: Happy Sunday

Today I decided to go for the casual look because it was very cold and windy so didn't feel like it was quite appropriate for a dress.

Firstly, skinny jeans go with pretty much everything and anything! So I personally have to have at least one pair in my wardrobe because you can dress it up or down!

A snood can really add to the outfit I think. It makes it that little bit more elegant? I don't know exactly how to describe it, but I think scarves and snoods add dimension to your outfit, and as well as that they keep you warm especially in this cold weather in Ireland!

I am wearing a long pocket watch style necklace I bought from Asos.com which I think looks great with casual outfit because it can add style to a plain top like this one if you take your snood off.

I am wearing a grey long top I bought from Pennys (or some know it as Primark) when it was on sale and only costed my 1!! Best buy for clothes yet! I like this top because it's long which makes my body and arms look longer and slimmer! I find with short tops it makes my body look short and wide, so I rarely wear short cut tops. The only con with this top is that it's 85% cotton and I find that it's not great if you sweat a lot because it WILL show and on grey, it comes out as a dark grey. But this can be solved if you want to wear a blazer over it! Makes it look quite classy!

I wore my tan leather boots with this outfit and when it's cold I wear my thick winter socks over my skinny jeans to keep my toesies warm!

So there you have it, my OOTD.

What's your must have in your wardrobe?

Happy Sunday

Photoshoot #1

So I've just decided to number my photoshoots so I don't have to come up with names for them :P yes I am lazy like that! hehehe
Well I've done a few, but when I post I"ll just list it by numbers, unless they are obviously themed like my Geisha one.

The photographer is the wonderful Gareth Byrd and I did the make up and hair myself.

Here I'm wearing a dress bought from Asos.com. And Bangles are from Pennys (stock from years ago me thinks!) No fake tan.
Make up: Benefit lipstick (wild card) and for my eyes I used Seventeen black eye shadow for smokey effect. And the base for my face is in my Natural Make up tutorial.
Hair is curled using a GHD straightner.

Happy Saturday!

My Saturday outfit!!

SO seeing as I haven't done any fashion related posts, I figured I might as well start now. :)

So this is what I wore today:

I am a fan of blazers as they make the outfit more formal, but depending on what you wear with it, it can make the perfect outfit for a nice day out with friends or a date. I'm not sure where this blazer comes from as it's one that my sister gave to me.
I adore boots and if it has a little heel on it, then it can help give you that long legs look! I got these boots from a website called Adverts.ie where there are lots of good bargains! These boots are new from New Look, and originally 20, but the person wanted to get rid of them because she was moving so she sold it to me for 10! BARGAIN!
This cute burgundy dress I bought on Sale in Awear the other day in Liffey Valley. It was originally 45 but I got it for 10! It's so pretty and can be worn on a night out, to the bar with some lady friends, or just casual during the day. And the shape of this dress is lovely as it compliments my body shape.

Because it's cold out, I wore my outfit with tights! Black tights and make your legs look slimmer and with the boots can make them look slim and long!

If you are going out, stick on a pair of nice flats or put on a pair of nice heels!

What do you guys think? Would you wear this outfit on a night out? Or perhaps wear the dress with something different?

A lovely day with a lovely friend and her lovely friend!

So today I met up with my friend who I hadn't seen in YEARS! Literally! I missed her so much and had a super duper afternoon with her and her friend!

Kaori was hungry and despite being in Ireland, she was craving Asian cuisine so off we went to a Japanese restaurant, Musashi on Capel Street in Dublin City Center, where we all ordered a Bento Box on the lunch special menu! I can't tell you enough how yummy it was and it wasn't a bad price either€8.99 and it filled me well.. perhaps even too well! It's now 4 hours since I ate and I'm STILL full!

And also got miso soup on the side! I just love how the Japanese always present their food beautifully!

Kaori and myself!

Then after lunch her friend had to go meet another friend, so Kaori and I went to Cafe en Seine to have tea (green tea) because I was actually unbelievably full! It was really really super nice to met up with her again after all these years! She's probably one of the sweetest girls I'll ever be friends with!
Kaori brought me a present  from Japan! She works in a big cosmetic company and one of the brands they have is Coffret D'or! I've never heard of it but she tells me they are compete with the French brands and other premium brands like Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc. So I can't wait to use this lip gloss "Elegant Jewelry Rouge (BE-216)" because I googled imaged it and the colour looks beautiful!

So let's do a quick summary of make up :)

My makeup today was pretty much the same as I did in my Keeping it Simple post! So now you know I am a very simple makeup girl! Nothing dramatic! hehehe the main things that are different are the lipsticks I use. Today I used my Lancome lipstick Trendy Mauve.
If you have never used Lancome lipsticks I really recommend them because they are so creamy on your lips! One of the few lipsticks I have that don't end up drying up your lips after a few hours of wear. It really does keep your lips moisturized when you wear it. One of my new favourite nudes lipsticks.

A tip on purchasing Lancome lipsticks: If the colour you like is not a high demand colour, wait for their sales because they do a yearly sale around Christmas time where they sell off old stock for half price! Well Debenhams in Ireland do their clearance sale after Christmas! And lipsticks are usually one of the first things to go!

Tip to get more volume in hair: I use Tresemme's body root boosting spray on my roots after I towel dry my hair (make sure you dry it as well as you can with a towel) then I use a heat protectant spray from Aussie and here is the trick, when you blow dry your hair, do it upside down, i.e. bend over so that your head is upside down and hair is hanging down and then blow dry pointing the nozzle of the dryer upwards. and when it is nearly dry, flip your hair back and just blow dry like you would normally, but make sure you keep the nozzle pointing up when blow drying!

If it is windy outside and you don't want to ruin your hair, wear a very loose big hat to keep your hair together as the loose hat won't give you "hat hair", hair which has been pressed down thus lost volume!
I knitted this hat, but I'm sure you can buy it in some shops! If I get enough requests I may do a tutorial on how I made it! :)

An easy outfit!
If you are not bothered trying to find matching things or dressing up due to laziness, a pair of heeled boots and a blazer always works a charm! I wore a plain long sleeve turquoise top I bought from Pennys (€3), skinny jeans, black blazer, scarf and brown leather heeled boots (New Look).

A long scarf always helps to add colour to the outfit and I find long scarves always looks good with any outfit!

Tip to give a plain black blazer a bit more colour: As you can see in the photo, I had a long sleeve top but I just rolled the sleeves up over the black blazer sleeve. And voila, it actually looked really good! At least I thought so anyways!

Hope you all had a lovely day!
